BACKGROUND:
The “Stilts” Residence is the first building that I ever designed. I drew it in 2016, at the age of 13. It is technically an original creation—though heavily influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright and the Ghazni Minarets.
The philosophy for the design stemmed from two goals. The first was to have a building with significant elevation, even on flat ground. The second, to create a seismic base isolation system that was discretely incorporated into the aesthetic of the building. I accomplished this by using pillars (or as I called them, “stilts”, hence the name.)
After I learned to use CAD software several years later, I returned to my design to 3D model and print it.
