~MAGAZINE ARTICLE~

-2024-

BACKGROUND:

The Utah Library Association (ULA) maintains a quarterly magazine for its members titled Utah Libraries. The periodical includes both information that is pertinent to general library science and specific Utah libraries. I submitted a short article, Axioms On Library Architecture, for consideration which was published in the April 2024 issue.

SYNOPSIS:

The article briefly explains the four “axioms” of library architecture which I devised to form the basis of my theory pertaining to libraries. These axioms are invitation, retention, accessibility, and service delivery. I explain what each axioms is in detail, and provide examples. By first considering these principles, a more formal design theory of libraries can be invented.

Note: I was not responsible for the graphic design of the article, only the writing. The full magazine can be found at the link above.
